Configuring KlipperTable of Contents

Options below distinguish between selection and clipboard. To understand the difference, see the section called “Clipboard/Selection Behavior”.
- Clipboard history: Save history across desktop sessions
Toggles whether clipboard history is preserved when you log off or shut down the computer.
- History size
Sets the number of items that are stored in the clipboard history. The value can be between 1 and 2048.
- Selection and Clipboard: Keep the selection and clipboard the same
When checked, this option keeps the selection and the clipboard the same, so that any selection or clipboard is immediately available to paste by any means. If it is turned off, the selection may still be saved in the clipboard history (subject to the options below), but it can only be pasted using the middle mouse button.
- Include in history: Text selected with the pointer or keyboard
When checked, selection is saved into history. Clipboard is always saved.
- Include in history: Image data copied explicitly
When checked, images copied as data — layers and selections copied in an image editor, for example — are saved in the clipboard history. Image files copied from a file manager are always saved. In the history, they appear as images, but those are only previews, underneath they are just filenames. Screenshots saved by Spectacle will also be saved when configured so there.
