VNC

Remote Desktop Connection supports VNC, RDP, and SPICE through protocol plugins. Select the protocol that matches the server on the remote computer. The client and server can run different operating systems.

VNC

VNC uses the Remote Frame Buffer (RFB) protocol. The server sends updates of its desktop image to the client, and the client sends keyboard and pointer input back to the server. It is commonly used to share an existing desktop session.

Desktop Sharing is KDE's desktop sharing application and provides a VNC server for sharing a Plasma™ desktop. Start and configure Desktop Sharing on the computer whose desktop you want to share, then connect to it from Remote Desktop Connection using VNC. Other compatible VNC servers can also be used.

Connection speed and the amount of change on the remote screen affect responsiveness. If updates are slow, try a lower VNC quality setting in the section called “VNC settings”.
