The Host Configuration dialog contains settings for the selected protocol. Clear Show this dialog again for this host to reuse them without being prompted on each connection. Settings are associated with the connection address; connecting by a different host name or IP address can use a different configuration.

When the server requests authentication, enter your password and, if requested, your user name. The Remember password option allows Remote Desktop Connection to store credentials through the system credential store using QtKeychain. Password storage also depends on the global Remember passwords setting.

For RDP, Remote Desktop Connection may ask you to verify an unknown or changed server certificate. Check the certificate details with the server administrator before accepting it. The dialog offers Remember this certificate for subsequent connections.

The tab icon indicates connection status. After authentication succeeds, you can view or control the remote desktop.
