If you currently use another financial manager application, it is very likely that KMyMoney can import much or all of the data from that program, as long as they can be exported or saved in a format KMyMoney understands. The most common of these is the Quicken Interchange Format (QIF). Most financial programs can export this format, although the different applications' methods of exporting QIF is not discussed here for brevity.

In addition to importing QIF format files, KMyMoney can directly open data files used by GnuCash file.
