Chapter 4. Menu and Command Reference

The Scan Menu

ScanScan folder.. (Ctrl+O)

Offers a folder selection dialog so you can choose a folder to scan.

ScanScan Home folder (Ctrl+Home)

Starts a scan of the user's home folder.

ScanScan Root folder

Starts a scan of the root folder.

ScanRescan (F5)

Starts a new scan of the current working folder, this is useful when changes have been made to the filesystem.

ScanStop (Esc)

Stops the current scan.

ScanQuit (Ctrl+Q)

Quits Filelight.

The View Menu

ViewZoom In (Ctrl++)

Increase the view of the filemap.

ViewZoom Out (Ctrl+-)

Decrease the view of the filemap.

The Go Menu

GoUp (Alt+Up)

Moves you up one step in the filesystem to the parent folder.

GoBack

Moves you one step back in your browsing history of the filesystem.

GoForward

Moves you one step forward in your browsing history of the filesystem.

The Settings Menu

SettingsToolbars Shown

Enables or disable the Main Toolbar, Location Toolbar or View Toolbar.

SettingsConfigure Shortcuts...

Allows you to configure the Filelight shortcuts.

SettingsConfigure Toolbars...

Allows you to configure and edit the Filelight toolbar.

SettingsConfigure Filelight...

Starts the Configure Filelight dialog.

The Help Menu

HelpFilelight Handbook (F1)

Invokes the KDE Help system starting at the Filelight help pages. (this document).

HelpWhat's This? (Shift+F1)

Changes the mouse cursor to a combination arrow and question mark. Clicking on items within Filelight will open a help window (if one exists for the particular item) explaining the item's function.

HelpReport Bug...

Opens the Bug report dialog where you can report a bug or request a wishlist feature.

HelpSwitch Application Language...

Opens a dialog where you can edit the Primary language and Fallback language for this application.

HelpAbout Filelight

This will display version and author information.

HelpAbout KDE

This displays the KDE version and other basic information.
