Warning

Before you can use KTTS, you must install at least one speech synthesis engine and make sure it is working. See Appendix A, Installation.

Starting kttsmgr

To start the KTTS system, type the following command in a Konsole

kttsmgr

or click on kttsmgr in the KDE Menu.

If this is the first time running kttsmgr, or if you have not yet configured any talkers, the Talkers screen appears. See the section called “Configuring Synthesis Plugins (Talkers)”. If you have already configured at least one talker, the General screen appears. See the section called “Starting KTTSD and Setting General Options”.
